Boracay is a tropical vacation island. The area is taking the prevailing weather and climate in the tropical Philippine archipelago. Vacationers simply love the sun and sky as they enjoy the pristine waters and the white, powdery sand.

Two main weather systems dictate which beaches and areas to go for an exquisite and truly enjoyable Boracay getaway. The western coast of the island is most popular among tourists during the months of November to May. This is because during the months, the prevailing weather system is influenced by the Northeast monsoon, which is actually trade winds coming to the Philippines from Siberia and the Pacific Ocean. Waters in the eastern coast of the island gets rough; the opposite goes for the beaches in the west section. Incidentally, the months comprise the peak period when tourists come because the weather gets usually clear and conducive to beach and outdoor activities.

From the months of June to September, southwest monsoon--trade winds coming from the South China Sea---prevails, giving torrential rains and strong winds to the Western Boracay section. This is the time when beaches at the eastern coast of the island become more popular and frequented.
